Our Process

OUR CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

A Clear Roadmap from First Site Walk to Final Handover.

Construction stays manageable when the scope, responsibilities and next steps are written down. We use the same practical roadmap on commercial and residential projects across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.

HOW THE WORK MOVES

Six Stages. One Accountable Team.

Most projects go sideways in the gaps: a missed inspection, a trade arriving out of sequence or a deficiency nobody documented. Our written roadmap closes those gaps and keeps the work, decisions and communication moving.

Plan carefully. Protect the site. Keep you informed. Finish the details.

THE FORESTWOOD ROADMAP

From first walkthrough to final handover.

Each stage has a clear purpose, a written outcome and a defined next step.

01
SITE WALK & SCOPE

Start with what is actually there.

We walk the space with you, review existing conditions and confirm what is being built. Details the drawings do not show are flagged early, before they become expensive surprises.

  • Existing conditions reviewed
  • Priorities and constraints confirmed
  • Scope boundaries documented
02
ESTIMATE & SCHEDULE

Put the scope, cost and sequence in writing.

You receive a clear written scope with allowances and exclusions stated. We map the work into a realistic sequence, then agree on access, a start date and a target completion.

  • Written scope and exclusions
  • Allowances identified
  • Working schedule established
03
PERMITS & CONSULTANTS

Coordinate approvals before they slow the site.

Where permits, drawings, engineering or specialist input are required, we coordinate the moving parts and plan inspections ahead so approvals do not become avoidable delays.

  • Permit requirements confirmed
  • Consultants coordinated
  • Inspections planned ahead
04
SITE SETUP & PROTECTION

Prepare the space before tools come out.

Floor protection, dust containment, access routes, working hours and occupied-space requirements are agreed and installed before construction begins.

  • Surfaces and routes protected
  • Dust and disruption controlled
  • Safe access maintained
05
BUILD & WEEKLY UPDATES

Keep trades, decisions and information moving.

Trades are sequenced, materials and inspections are tracked, and regular updates show what was completed, what comes next and what decisions are needed.

  • Trades sequenced
  • Progress communicated
  • Changes documented before proceeding
06
DEFICIENCY WALK & CLOSEOUT

Finish the list, not just the construction.

We walk the completed work with you, write the deficiency list, finish the outstanding details and hand over a clean, usable space.

  • Joint final walkthrough
  • Written deficiency list
  • Clean handover and closeout
SITE STANDARDS

What This Looks Like Day to Day.

A good process should be visible on site, not just described in a proposal. These are the working standards our team brings to every project.

PROTECTION FIRST

Floors, finishes and occupied areas are protected before construction begins.

A CLEAN, ORDERLY SITE

Materials, waste and work areas are managed so the site stays safe and usable.

PREDICTABLE UPDATES

You know what was completed, what comes next and where a decision is needed.

COORDINATED TRADES

The right people arrive in the right sequence with the information they need.

CHANGES DOCUMENTED

Scope, cost or timing impacts are explained before changed work proceeds.

DETAILS CLOSED OUT

Deficiencies are written, assigned and completed, not left to memory.

THE PROCESS IN ACTION

Plan Carefully. Protect the Site. Finish the Details.
